GDP calculation in the modern United States is a complicated process. The calculation is done by the Bureau of Economic Analysis as part of its production of the National Income and Product Accounts. Independent calculations may be done by other organizations?

Individuals and firms → a bunch of agencies (IRS, BLS, etc.) → BEA
